In the waning hours of Congress, on December 22, 2009, the Senate passed a bill extending the Generalized System of Preferences program for an additional year.  The GSP Program, which provides duty-free entry for the majority of imported goods from column 1 countries, was scheduled to expire on December 31, 2009.
